Giving Up What No Longer Works? At some point in your career, you’ll have to accept the fact that certain strategies just won’t work anymore. That’s the hard truth for every marketer, including myself.
The key to this knows when to throw out the old and bring in the new.
We all know that if we keep doing what we’ve always done, we’ll keep getting what we’ve always gotten.
The same thing happens in content marketing. If you’re still publishing the same content to your social media channels, you’re not going to get any better results. You need to change your strategy and adapt to a new reality.
One of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen marketers make is not changing their content strategy and tactics when they no longer work. The sad truth is that many companies are still using the same tactics that didn’t work in the past.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t ever use those old tactics again. However, you should never stop using them altogether.
Instead, you should consider a few things when you’re ready to ditch your old content.
First, you’ll want to consider what kind of content you’re producing. Is it still relevant? Can you show that your audience still wants to read it?
If the answer to these questions is no, then it’s time to let it go.
Second, consider the source of your content. Do you still have the resources to produce the content you want?
If you can’t answer yes to either of these questions, it’s time to reevaluate your content strategy.
As I mentioned before, I’ve made plenty of mistakes in my career. The biggest mistake I’ve made is giving up. When I started out as a content marketer, I was willing to try almost anything to promote my brand. I would experiment with different techniques and strategies. I thought that if something wasn’t working, I could just try something else.
The problem with this approach is that it’s easy to get stuck in a rut and never move forward. The key to avoiding this is to keep trying new things. You can’t continue to do the same thing and expect different results.
When you’re in a rut, it’s easy to get discouraged and give up. The key to avoiding this is to keep going. Even if your content isn’t performing as well as you want, you should continue to try new things.
